Deposits, Rebooking & Cancellations

All sessions require a $100 deposit before the session is confirmed. The deposit is subtracted from your final invoice. Deposits are usually paid when you book using my online system. If you are booking a session through me directly you will receive an invoice to pay the deposit which ideally should be paid as soon as possible as your dates are not held until a deposit is paid and could be booked by someone else.

Once a deposit is paid it is non-refundable in the event you cancel your session. If you cancel within 48 hours of your session and a deposit has not yet been paid you will be charged a cancellation fee.

Outdoor sessions can be canceled at any time and will be offered rebooking at no extra cost. See rebooking details below.

Studio sessions cancelled by the client 24+ hours before the start time will be offered rebooking at no extra cost. See rebooking details below.

Studio sessions cancelled by the client less than 24 hours before the start time can rebook for a $50 fee. This is simply because my studio space is rented on an as needed basis and has a 24 hour cancellation policy so this fee covers the cost of paying for the unused studio time. See rebooking details below.

In the event your shoot must be cancelled by yourself or due to weather my rebooking policy is to allow rebooking under the same deposit (plus additional fees as above) for two weeks from the original shoot date. After two weeks your full deposit is forfeited. The new shoot date does not have to be within that two weeks, only the rebooking process needs to happen within that time frame.

If I should become unable to attend your shoot due to illness or another issue I will endeavour to give you as much notice as possible. Rebooking will be offered as soon as possible and there will be no forfeiture of your deposit and no rebooking fee regardless of when the shoot is rebooked. If a session cannot be rebooked in a timeframe that works for the client they can request a deposit refund.

Late Policy

Ideally clients will arrive on time to their session but of course sometimes unexpected things happen. Clients should make every effort to notify me of any late arrivals by texting or calling 902 402 8922 if it is the day of the shoot. Before that you can email me to request rescheduling.

Clients who do not notify me of a late arrival may have their shoot rescheduled if they do not arrive or send a notification within 15 minutes of their scheduled start time.

Clients who do send a notification on the day of their appointment may have their shoot shortened or rescheduled if they are going to miss more than 25% of their shoot time. (Ex: 10+ minutes late for 30 minute shoots, 15+ minutes late for hour long shoots, 20+ minutes late for 90 minute shoots etc.)

This is to allow me to stay on time for any subsequent shoots or other appointments. Thanks for your understanding!

Proofing & Editing Timelines

When booking it’s also good to take into consideration my proofing and editing timelines.

For headshot sessions I have proofs up within a week of our shoot and edits done within two weeks of receiving your choices.

For all portrait sessions all of the images will be edited and uploaded to a gallery within 4 weeks of our session.

Any adjustments to my editing timelines due to holidays will be noted on the booking page of my website as soon as the information is available.

Covid & Other Illnesses

I ask that all clients monitor their health and reschedule their session if they have tested positive for Covid, have had known contact in the last week with anyone who has tested positive for Covid, or if you or anyone you live with has not been feeling well in any way in the past several days. I will also do the same should myself or my partner become sick or Covid positive. Sessions are always much more fun and successful when you are feeling your best!
